Revierderby: Warm-up injury sees Reyna miss out on first Dortmund start
Giovanni Reyna was denied a first senior start after sustaining an injury in the warm-up ahead of Borussia Dortmund's Revierderby against Schalke.
The 17-year-old was named in the starting line-up at an empty Signal Iduna Park as the Bundesliga returned from its enforced two-month hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.
However, Dortmund posted on Twitter shortly before kick-off to confirm he was unable to play, with Thorgan Hazard taking his place.
"Gio Reyna will be replaced by Thorgan Hazard in the Starting XI as a result of an injury sustained during warm up," Dortmund wrote.
"Get well soon, Gio."
