Robert Lewandowski says Pep Guardiola has decided his Premier League destination
Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski thinks his manager Pep Guardiola has already decided which Premier League team he will be managing next season. Guardiola who has decided to leave Bayern this summer has been subject to intense speculation regarding his future.
It had widely been reported that the Spanish tactician’s destination will most likely be Manchester City, however, their Premier League rivals, Manchester United and Chelsea also remain interested in securing his services.
The Polish striker feels that his coach will be an asset to whichever team he coaches and feels that he will adapt to the different needs of the Premier League. "I know Pep can improve a team in England," the Poland international told the Daily Mail. "I think he knows where he's going and he knows what he needs to do with the team he's going to, so that they play much better.
"He will focus on technique and perhaps more possession than is the norm in England. But Pep knows the Premier League is different from the Spanish league or the Bundesliga. I'm sure he can do something new in terms of tactics and technique."
Lewandowski who was first disappointed with Pep’s decision to move on is now determined to ensure Bayern have a strong finish to the season.
"The first time I heard Pep's decision I thought it was a shame," added Lewandowski. "But after that, I knew I'd to come here to train and play and I'm sure we'll carry on in the same direction with Pep right to the end of the season.
"It's important for me to have a good second half of the season. And if we do win something then we will celebrate with Pep.
"Pep thinks about football 24 hours a day. He covers every angle to the smallest detail and he always demands 100 per cent in training and in games."
Lewandowski does not rule out Bayern exit
The former Dortmund striker refused to rule out an exit from the Bavarian powerhouse with a host of big name clubs interested in securing his services. Lewandowski has been in stunning form this season and he has already scored 19 goals in 18 Bundesliga appearances.
Lewandowski, who has a contract until 2019 insisted he remained completely focussed on Bayern till the end of this season. When asked about a potential exit, the striker told Die Welt am Sommtag "As a professional footballer, it's hard to say. Many times I have heard players say such a thing and then in comes another coach and they are no longer in such high demand. Or they get a very interesting offer.”
"In any case, I feel very well at Bayern and will always give everything for the team while I'm here. I focus exclusively on Bayern.
"Ever since I was 18, there have been enquiries and rumors and even then I learned to deal with it. I can shut it out, it does not distract me.
"It has become normal, but it does not interest me."
