Robert Lewandowski will stay at Borussia Dortmund for the season
Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski has given up on a move to Bayern Munich this season after he was given a £3 million pay rise by the club.
However, he he will remain at the club for only another season.
“The situation is now that I will stay in Dortmund for one more year,” Lewandowski told Sport Bild magazine.
Lewandowski was one of the biggest talking points in the summer, with the forward generating interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester city.
“I had a different starting point. I thought I was allowed to transfer. I was then disappointed and angry. But now everything is calm. I have always said I would respect my contract,” the forward added.
Lewandowski had a great season last time around, scoring 24 goals in the league and another 10 in the Champions league.
