Roma: An unbeaten start? Now that’s a miracle!

AS Roma has done the impossible.

Not by hiring a Frenchman, Rudi Garcia, for the first time in the club’s history. It was only about time that the capital team would see someone from a neighbouring country take over. What’s stunning is that they have maintained a winning streak of six games since the start by scoring 18 times, beating arch rivals Lazio in the first Derby della Capitale of the season and conceding just two goals.

For a man who has sees this as a vast improvement since his days at Corbeil-Essonnes, AS Saint-Étienne, Dijon FCO and Le Mans UC72, it’s not all that bad. He has had his moments, and now he has all of Rome excited and full of expectation; well, half of Rome at least.

Assuming he goes on to win the Serie A without any wrongdoing (you know how Serie A can get), it would give the “the Eternal city” the opportunity to make up for its recent disappointing past in terms of bringing in sporting silverware.

Roma’s current position in the table has awakened the long lost set of gloomy fans, who would wear the colours of the Giallorossi with a pride. With the sons of Roma, the immortal Francisco Totti and the general Daniele De Rossi in the form of their lives, people will now watch these Romans take on to the field in the hope of bringing back the Serie A title back to Rome.

Thanks, Rudi. Truly.
