Roma fire coach Zdenek Zeman

Roma have sacked coach Zdenek Zeman following last night’s 4-2 defeat to at home to Cagliari. The announcement was confirmed today on Roma’s official website and twitter handle.

The loss left the Serie A giants languishing in mid-table with 34 points from 23 games, which is good enough for 8th spot, three points off Milan who occupy the final European qualifying places. The humiliating loss at the hands of struggling Cagliari meant the Roman outfit remained winless in the their last 5 league games, while having only won once in their last 7.
