Roma, Totti to discuss contract extension
Rome - The negotiation between Roma and Francesco Totti will begin this week as the Italian football club seeks to retain their icon’s service.
Totti’s current contract is to expire in June next year, and both he and the club hope to prolong their relationship despite some disagreements.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, the almost 37-year-old will accept a reduced salary of 3.5 million euros a season, but he wants a two-year contract in return.
Roma, it is being claimed, would rather hand him a fresh 12-month agreement.
Roma director general Mauro Baldissoni will make contact with Totti over the next seven days.
