Romania vs Cyprus Prediction and Betting Tips | November 18th 2024

Romania and Cyprus draw the curtain in Group C2 of the UEFA Nations League when they lock horns at the National Arena on Monday. Mircea Lucescu’s men, who have been dominant in recent outings, will look to maintain momentum and close out the campaign on a high.

Romania saw their game against Kosovo on Friday abandoned after the Tricolours walked off the pitch in stoppage time due to offensive chants and on-field clashes at the National Arena.

Lucescu’s side enjoyed a perfect qualifying campaign leading up to Friday’s outing, claiming four wins from their four matches while scoring 11 goals and keeping two clean sheets.

Romania have picked up 12 points in Group C2 to sit top of the standings and need just a draw on Monday to guarantee promotion as they sit three points above second-placed Kosovo.

Elsewhere, Grigoris Kastanos and Marinos Tzionis scored either side of Gvidas Gineitis’ 47th-minute equalizer to fire Cyprus to a 2-1 victory over Lithuania at the AEK Arena on Friday.

Before that, Sofronis Avgousti’s men kicked off the campaign with a 1-0 win over Lithuania in September’s reverse fixture before suffering three defeats on the bounce.

Despite Friday’s victory, Cyprus’ hopes of promotion are effectively over as they sit three points behind second-placed Kosovo with a -13 goal difference.
