Ronaldinho fails to show up on first day of job as Barcelona ambassador
The news of Ronaldinho returning to Barcelona was seen in a celebratory light by the fans of the club, even if it wasn’t in a playing role. The former Brazilian number 10 was once the reason of sheer joy for the fans at Camp Nou and his return, albeit as the ambassador of the club, was greeted with the utmost welcome.
However, carelessness was the biggest obstacle of his career. And it seems as though the same relaxing approach is already hindering his new role with the club. After being appointed to the role of an ambassador of the club, he failed to show up to work on the very first day of his job.
As a representative of the Camp Nou outfit, the former Milan man has to fulfill some obligations—one of which was attending Barcelona’s recent game against Deportive La Coruna. However, he didn’t show up.
His absence, reportedly, has baffled the club’s hierarchy. And why wouldn’t they be? After all, it was a relatively simple task.
However, it could all be a big and grand misunderstanding as Ronaldinho posted a photo of himself during the game, enjoying a good time on a beach in sunny Catalonia, perhaps unaware of the fact that there was an ongoing game that he had to attend to.
Hence, it seems a bit absurd that the former Barcelona number 10 would miss his club’s emphatic 4-0 win in exchange of some relaxing seaside sunlight.
Some players are made of such a cloth that it is absolutely impossible to hate them. The Rauls, the Del Pieros, the Maldinis… players like these are the epitome of how to be loved by everyone. Another such player is Ronaldinho.
A revealing smile always accompanied his samba style of play, and fans adored him—even if they weren’t the supporters of the team he played for.
Therefore, it is impossible that the fans and the board would be highly displeased with Ronaldinho’s lack of care. However, it was this indifferent approach that made him lose his spot as a player with the Blaugranas; hence, some diligence is the need of the hour.
Ronaldinho spent five glorious years at Barcelona, leading the team to a new wave of magnificence from a period of darkness. He also played the role of a mentor for Lionel Messi, who has now enmeshed his name among the greatest players of all time.
