Ronaldo feels Neymar is too good for Brazil
Brazilian legend Ronaldo has advised Neymar to take his talents to Europe’s elite clubs. He feels that the 21-year-old is too good to stay in Brazil.
Neymar has been linked with clubs like Manchester City, Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. Neymar’s father had admitted that his son will leave Santos after the 2014 FIFA World Cup, but with mammoth bids coming in for the global superstar, Santos may let go of their prized asset sooner than expected.
Ronaldo, who has had his time with Europe’s biggest clubs, believes that his compatriot will realise his full potential only when he moves on to a newer, tougher challenge. The Brazilian league has a good pool of talented youngsters but in order to improve as a footballer, Neymar should launch himself abroad.
“Neymar is undoubtedly an excellent player. He is going to be one of the best in the world when he decides to play in Europe. He is too talented to be limited only to Brazil,” said the former Real Madrid star.
“He has had several proposals from clubs abroad, but he renewed his contract with Santos. Ideally the best time to leave for Europe would be before the World Cup in 2014.
“It would make him more mature and he would have more experience to lead Brazil.”
