Ronaldo Nazario picks his all-time dream XI
The 'real' Ronaldo has picked his all-time XI and has surprised all by picking just one of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. He has gone with an attacking formation of 4-2-4 but the defenders he's picked would be more than enough to stop any attack in the world.
Starting off with the goalkeeper, Ronaldo has gone for Juventus and Italy legend, Gianluigi Buffon. The shot-stopper has been playing every since Ronaldo first appeared on the International stage and is still standing tall between the posts for club and country – 6 years after Ronaldo retired.
In defence, he's picked his countrymen and former teammates, Cafu and Roberto Carlos as the full-backs. The duo were two of the best the world has ever seen and it is no surprise that Ronaldo has picked them!
Italian legends, Paulo Maldini and Fabio Cannavaro are the centre-backs picked by the Brazilian. The fact that he's picked the Italians in the defence and between the posts shows how much of a nightmare they must have been to play against for the striker himself.
Moving on to the midfielder, Ronaldo has picked just two players to control the main part of the game. And to do this, he's put his trust in the two of the best ever – Zinedine Zidane and Andrea Pirlo.
Zidane is currently managing the club where he and Ronaldo were teammates and has guided them to back-to-back European glory. Pirlo, meanwhile, has just announced that he is set to retire from the game in December.
On the wings, it's the Argentine legends – Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi. The duo have identical playing styles and can wriggle past any defence in the world. They are regarded as the best players the world has ever seen and Ronaldo concurs!
Up front, Ronaldo has picked himself to partner the legendary Pele. The Brazilian legends have a tremendous goal-scoring record and hence no explanation is required as to why Ronaldo went for this partnership.
