Ronaldo ready to rejoin Manchester United?
Cristiano Ronaldo is all set to leave Real Madrid and join hands with his former boss Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford, reports The Sun.
Real Madrid has made the Portuguese star wait 11 months to get a new deal and now, he could leave the club by summer and join United as Ferguson wants his prodigal son back at the club.
In 2009, the Red Devils lost their Superstar to Real for a world-record £80m and there could be a turn around of tables this summer.
Frustrated Ronaldo watched Lionel Messi sign a new six-year deal at Barcelona worth over £100m.
Real president Florentino Perez promised a new deal for the striker by January, but it has not yet been signed and last week, there were talks of a new six-year-deal for him with £25m a season.
But it might be too late as he had told his former Man United team-mates that he wants to return and Real Madrid are ready to accept a fee around £122m (approximately $200m). This would make Real richer by £272m, which includes his wage worth £150m for six seasons.
It would be definitely better than nothing at the end of his contract in 2015, when he will be available for free, at the age of 30.
Ronaldo does not seem to be a happy man at Bernabeu, as he stays there on his original Real contract, while Messi has signed six new deals in seven years.
More than that, he has always felt that the club has not supported his quest to be named as the FIFA player of the year.
The winger always has his eye on the Ballon D’Or and Perez was not there at the UEFA Champions League draw, where Andres Iniesta walked away with the European player of the year award.
Barca president Sandro Rosell was present to watch his own star collect the trophy and Ronaldo admitted he was ‘sad.’
Fergie said last week that ‘Ronaldo is as good as Messi’ – the appraisal that he missed in his own club.
Patrice Evra also said that Ronaldo could win the Ballon D’Or if he returns to Old Trafford.
