2 La Liga clubs keen on taking Barcelona outcast on-loan this season: Reports

Barcelona's last season signing Vitor Roque could reportedly leave the club on loan this summer. Two La Liga sides are interested in signing him.

Roque has found it difficult to make his place in the starting XI of the Catalan club. The Brazilian made just 16 appearances for the club across competitions last season and scored a couple of goals.

According to a report by journalist Roger Torello of Mundo Deportivo, Vitor Roque has agreed to go out on a loan but his preference is to stay in La Liga. He had a stiff pre-season campaign and even his assigned number 19 was given to teenage prodigy Lamine Yamal.

Although the 19-year-old was unwilling to be loaned out initially, he eventually realized that it would be an ordeal for him to get playing time in Barcelona. He realized that it would be good for his development if he became a regular starter elsewhere. That would allow him forward to gain more experience and confidence as a striker.

At the moment, Spanish clubs Real Sociedad and Girona are on Barcelona's radar as both clubs need a quality center forward. However, they are yet to make an offer for Roque. The Catalan club and Roque's agents are working very hard to negotiate a deal with the clubs that would suit the player the most.

Outside Spain, clubs like Sporting CP and FC Porto have also shown interest in Vitor Roque. However, his unwillingness to go out of La Liga has rendered those interests pointless.

Vitor Roque has also generated interest from the Premier League and a club has reportedly offered a deal worth €28 million for the Brazillian. According to Sky Sports Germany's Florian Plettenberg, Everton offered €25 million plus €3 million in add-ons for the forward.

However, the bid was rejected by Barcelona as they are looking for a bid in the region between €30 million and €35 million. Despite the initial rejection, Everton are still continuing communications with the Catalan club for signing the Brazilian.

The Catalan club paid €40 million to Brazilian club Athletico Paranaense in January 2024 after he showed his class in the Brazilian outfit. Vitor Roque recorded 28 goals and 11 assists in 81 appearances for the club and was one of the most prolific youngsters in the league.
