Al-Hilal in advanced talks with Premier League superstar, expected to offer contract in attempt to replace Neymar: Reports
Al-Hilal are in talks with Mohamed Salah, who they see as a potential replacement for Neymar, according to EL Nacional. The Brazilian, who has struggled with injuries since moving to Saudi Arabia, could reportedly leave Al-Hilal in the coming months.
Neymar joined Al-Hilal for €90 million from Paris Saint-Germain in August 2023. But his consistent battle with fitness has seen him register only seven appearances, scoring one and providing three assists.
This could be why Al-Hilal's hierarchy are willing to offer Salah a bumper contract in an attempt to replace the Brazilian. Salah is currently in the final year of his contract at Anfield, which is set to expire next summer.
While Liverpool's hierarchy are reportedly in talks with Salah over a new contract, he's yet to accept the offer. Salah is one of the most valuable players at Liverpool, having scored 220 goals and registered 98 assists in 365 appearances for the club.
Cristiano Ronaldo might be Neymar's replacement at Al-Hilal - Reports
Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the players who could replace Neymar at Al-Hilal, according to a report by Fichajes (via Caught Offside). Since joining Al-Nassr in January 2023, Ronaldo has been impressive in front of goal, scoring 68 goals and registering 18 assists in 78 games.
At the age of 39, the Portuguese forward is still delivering in front of goal. This could be why Al-Hilal’s hierarchy might be looking to sign him. Ronaldo's current contract at Al-Nassr expires next summer.
If he fails to sign a new deal, Al-Hilal may try to secure his signing. Given his quest to win the Saudi Pro League, which he has failed to do so far, Ronaldo might be tempted to join Al-Hilal.
Ronaldo has had a bright start to the 2024-25 season, scoring 10 goals and registering three assists in 14 games.
