Al-Nassr begin talks with Cristiano Ronaldo over contract extension - Reports
Al-Nassr have reportedly begun talks with Cristiano Ronaldo over his contract renewal. The Portuguese icon's current contract with the Saudi Pro League club is valid until the summer of 2025.
According to journalist Abdul Rahman Al-Hamidi, Ronaldo has been offered a proposal for a one-year contract extension at Al-Nassr. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner joined the Riyadh-based club on a reported $200 million-per-year deal in 2023 following his controversial exit from Manchester United.
Amid reports of Al-Nassr offering Ronaldo a contract extension, another journalist, Ali Al-Marshoud, has hinted that the new contract may have already been accepted by the 39-year-old, with the official confirmation pending.
In his first full season (2023-24) with the Knights of Najd, Cristiano Ronaldo scored 35 league goals and set a new record for the most goals in a single season of the Saudi Pro League. With that, the former Real Madrid star had become the first player in history to finish as the top goalscorer in four different leagues. He has won the LaLiga Golden Boot Award thrice, the Premier League Golden Boot, the Serie A Golden Boot, and the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot.
Cristiano Ronaldo has netted nine goals and provided three assists in 13 appearances across competitions for Al-Nassr so far this season. Overall, the Portuguese icon has recorded 67 goals and 18 assists in 77 appearances across competitions for the Saudi club.

Al-Nassr are interested in signing Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyokeres who is on the transfer target list of several Premier League clubs, according to a report by O Jogo (via Tribal Football). Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United are keen on acquiring the 26-year-old's signature.
Viktor Gyokeres joined Sporting CP from Coventry City in 2023 and has netted 63 goals and provided 19 assists in 66 appearances across competitions for the Portuguese club. With his impressive form, the Swedish forward has attracted interest from several clubs, including Al-Nassr, who are considering him as a primary target in next summer's transfer window.
Sporting CP have set a high valuation for Viktor Gyokeres, with his release clause estimated at €100 million.
