Arsenal and Chelsea keeping tabs on 18-year-old German sensation: Reports
According to reports, Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in Germany and TSG Hoffenheim ace Max Moerstedt. After a relatively busy activity in the summer transfer window, both London clubs are still poised to strengthen their squad.
Moerstedt is yet to make his debut start for Hoffenheim’s senior team. The 18-year-old has still attracted the interest of several Premier League clubs, with Arsenal and Chelsea reportedly leading the race, as per TBR Football. It remains to be seen if both clubs will intensify their interest in the German forward by making an official proposal to sign him.
Moerstedt made his fifth appearance for Hoffenheim and his UEFA Europa League debut as a substitute against Danish side Midtjylland on Wednesday, September 25. Hoffenheim kicked off their 2024-25 Europa League campaign with a 1-1 draw. Moerstedt saved the day by coming off the bench to score a stunning goal in the 89th minute, which was his first for the club, salvaging a point for his team.
The aforementioned source also said the Gunners and the Blues sent scouts to watch the German's impressive 17-minute display against Midtjylland on Wednesday. The other Premier clubs interested in Moerstedt include Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Liverpool. It was said that all these clubs watched the Hoffenheim striker earlier in the past 12 months.
Amidst these developments, Chelsea could be the club to pull the strings here. They have shown a propensity to sign young players who have yet to reach the peak of their power for a huge sum of money.
