Arsenal and Chelsea in three-horse race to sign 28-year-old Bundesliga attacker: Reports

Arsenal and Chelsea have reportedly made it a three-horse race with Newcastle United for Bundesliga attacker Leroy Sane. The 28-year-old Bayern Munich forward's future in Bavaria seems uncertain, as he has yet to sign a contract extension.

Spanish media outlet Fichajes (via TeamTalk) claim that all three Premier League clubs are monitoring Sane's situation. It is worth noting that the 28-year-old's contract at Bayern Munich will end in the summer of 2025.

If he doesn't agree to a new deal with the Bavarians before January 2025, clubs will legally be allowed to approach him to arrange a free summer transfer.

Leroy Sane already has good experience of playing in the Premier League with Manchester City. He made 135 appearances for the English giants, scoring 43 goals and providing 11 assists during his four-year stint.

The report claims that Arsenal are interested in a move for Sane to enhance their attacking lineup, as they look to win the Premier League. However, it adds that Newcastle United are the most interested in Sane, with the Magpies hoping to enter continental competitions consistently.

Chelsea seem the least likely to conclude a move for Leroy Sane, particularly due to the number of wingers they have in their squad.

Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle United also chase Brazilian talent

Leroy Sane isn't the only player being monitored by Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle United, with the three clubs reportedly keeping Brazilian talent Igor Jesus on their radar as well (via TBRFootball). The exciting 23-year-old attacker has made a name for himself in Botafogo after returning to Brazil from UAE giants Shabab Al-Ahli in the summer.

Since his return, Igor Jesus has gotten on the radar of big clubs with his brilliant performances for Botafogo. This season, he has scored seven goals and provided one assist in 19 games.

These performances saw him called up to the Brazil national team. He then scored a goal on his debut in the World Cup Qualifiers, as Brazil beat Chile 2-1 on October 10 (EST) at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martinez Pradanos.

It is no surprise that clubs in England have taken notice of his quality, and according to TBR Football, they could make a move for him in 2025. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle aren't the only interested parties, with Brighton & Hove Albion, Brentford, and Nottingham Forest all taking notes.
