Arsenal interested in signing 24-year-old forward linked with Liverpool after shining at Euro 2024: Reports

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Baris Alper Yilmaz, who's also been linked with Liverpool this summer. They see the Turkish forward as an alternative for Nico Williams.

The Gunners are among a host of clubs interested in signing Williams this summer after his performances with Athletic Bilbao last season. He also helped Spain win the UEFA Euro 2024. However, it's unlikely that the winger will leave La Liga this summer.

As per Turkish outlet Sabah Spor (via Football Fancast), Arsenal have identified Baris Alper Yilmaz as an alternative to Williams. The Galatasaray forward impressed for Turkiye at Euro 2024 despite not registering any goal contribution. He helped them reach the quarter-finals, where they lost against the Netherlands.

Yilmaz is quite versatile and can play anywhere across the front three, with the wings being his favored position. Since joining Galatasaray from Ankara Keciorengucu in 2021, he's made 108 appearances, scoring 11 goals and providing 14 assists.

As per the aforementioned report, the Turkish giants will demand a fee in excess of €30 million for the 24-year-old, with his contract expiring in 2027. Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Yilmaz. The Reds captain Virgil van Dijk heaped praise on the attacker after the Netherlands' Euro 2024 win over Turkiye.

Les Olympiens appointed Roberto De Zerbi as manager this summer and have already signed the likes of Mason Greenwood and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. They are now interested in signing Nketiah to bolster their attack.

The English striker has fallen in the pecking order at the Emirates behind the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz. He scored six goals and provided three assists in 37 games across competitions, starting just 13 of them, last season.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Marseille have already sent an initial proposal to the Gunners. While there is no agreement yet, the two clubs are in negotiations.

Nketiah came through Arsenal's academy and has scored 38 goals and provided seven assists in 168 senior games for them. His contract expires in 2027 and as per Transfermarkt, his market value is €30 million.
