Arsenal prioritize move for 2 strikers ahead of Victor Osimhen: Reports

Arsenal are reportedly going to prioritize the signings of Julian Alvarez and Viktor Gyokeres over Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer. The Gunners are in search of a new number nine, with Kai Havertz expected to lead the line at the start of the new Premier League season.

Corriere dello Sport claims that the north Londoners' interest in the Nigeria international seems to have gone quiet in recent days (via One Football). However, they continue to be linked with a move for Argentina and Manchester City star Alvarez.

The 24-year-old isn't a sure-shot starter at the Etihad and could look elsewhere for regular game time. He's quite versatile and capable of playing as a central striker as well as out wide.

However, the aforementioned report deems it unlikely for the Cityzens to sell Alvarez to their title rivals this summer. Therefore, it is believed that the most likely option for Mikel Arteta and Co. would be Sporting's Gyokeres.

The Sweden international has four years left on his current contract with his Portuguese employers and is set to be an expensive purchase. It is claimed that the forward has a €100 million release clause in this deal, something that Arsenal might have to meet to get this move completed.

He's made 51 appearances across competitions for Sporting, bagging 43 goals and 17 assists. A move to the Emirates is certainly tempting, with Arsenal gunning for the Premier League title next season. They will also offer the 26-year-old striker UEFA Champions League football in the coming campaign.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for a new striker this summer, and this may imply that Eddie Nketiah is surplus to requirements at the Emirates. He's currently behind the likes of Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus for minutes in that position.

As a result, the England international has been rumored to transfer to Marseille, whose latest £23 million bid is said to have been rejected by the Gunners. According to the Mirror, the north Londoners want to secure a sum of £30 million for Nketiah's services.

With Arsenal adamant about their asking price, it is believed that the French outfit are now looking to bring in Youssoufa Moukoko on loan from Borussia Dortmund. Either way, Nketiah will be looking for a way out in search of regular game time.
