Arsenal star agrees personal terms over transfer to replace ex-Gunners captain: Reports

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Marseille. The French outfit are said to be looking to sign the Englishman to replace Gabonese veteran Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has left the club.

Olympique Marseille have identified another player from Arsenal, Nketiah, to replace the experienced striker, and have made an approach for him, as per Metro UK. The report claims that the 25-year-old has agreed on personal terms with the French club and is keen on the move.

Olympique Marseille have been active in the summer market, first recruiting a new manager, Roberto De Zerbi, from Brighton and Hove Albion. L'OM have also signed some important players and let go of others ahead of the new season.

Former Arsenal and Chelsea man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of the departures after spending just one season at the Velodrome. The 35-year-old scored 30 goals in 51 appearances for the side but has now completed a switch to newly-promoted Saudi side Al-Qadsiah.

Marseille intend to secure Nketiah on a loan deal with an option to buy him permanently from the Gunners at the end of the season. The striker scored just six goals, three of which came in a single game, in the 2023-24 season.

The French club have already signed Mason Greenwood and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Premier League sides, and are keen to add another one to their ranks. Crystal Palace are said to be long-time admirers of Nketiah and his talents, but a move to France seems more likely at this time.
