Barcelona handed boost as PSG opt out of race to sign EURO 2024 star - Reports
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are reportedly not on the list to sign Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich this summer. As per Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Manchester City are among the notable clubs keen on the Bayern Munich midfielder.
According to Plettenberg, Bayern could look to sell Kimmich this summer. The midfielder's contract is set to expire at the end of the 2024-25 season.
Kimmich has been with the Bavarians since 2015 and has made 390 appearances for the club, scoring 42 goals and providing 104 assists. He is also a key player for Germany and is currently with the national team at Euro 2024.
Kimmich is versatile and can play both as a full-back and as a midfielder. Real Madrid are rumored to be courting Kimmich as a replacement for Toni Kroos who is set to retire from football after Euro 2024.
Barcelona are also reportedly interested and with Hanski Flick in charge, the Catalan club could look to gather pace in their pursuit. Flick worked with Kimmich at Bayern as well as for Germany's national team.
PSG were previously linked with a move for Kimmich. However, it has been rumored for a while that Kimmich won't be joining the Parisian club, with both parties believed to have not shown too much of an interest.

As per Catalunya Radio, Hansi Flick has urged Barcelona to sign PSG target Jeremie Frimpong. The Dutchman had a spectacular season with the incredible Bayer Leverkusen team.
The 23-year-old scored 14 goals and provided 12 assists in 47 appearances across competitions for the Bundesliga club. Frimpong is also aiming for Euro 2024 glory with the Oranje this summer.
Blessed with blistering pace, Frimpong is a handful to deal with on the right-hand side. He could be a valuable addition to the Barca side, who used Manchester City star Joao Cancelo on loan during the 2023-24 season.
Frimpong is contracted with Leverkusen until the end of the 2027-28 season. As per He has an estimated market value of €50 million.
