Barcelona handed double injury boost ahead of Las Palmas clash - Reports
Barcelona are all set to welcome Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres back to their Matchday squad for the upcoming game against Las Palmas. The Catalans face the Canarian club at the Estadi Olimpic Luis Companys on Saturday, November 30, in the league.
The LaLiga giants have been without Torres since October due to a hamstring injury. While the Spaniard hasn't been a guaranteed starter under Hansi Flick, he still remains a vital part of Barcelona's squad at the moment.
Torres has registered one goal and two assists from 10 games this season, six of which have been starts. While his return wil be a big boost to the Catalans, fans will perhaps been even more delighted with Yamal's recovery.
The 17-year-old has been outstanding under Flick this season, registering six goals and eight assists from 16 games. An ankle injury picked up against Red Star kept him out of action for the last three games and the LaLiga giants certainly missed him.
Barcelona won one and lost one in his absence and will be eager to get him back. Ferran Torres and Yamal have both returned to training and have now received the green signal for Saturday's game.
The teenager is part of a new-look attack with Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski that has been highly effective this season. The Brazilian has chipped in with 13 goals and ten assists from 19 games across competitions. Meanwhile, Lewandowski has also been on fire this campaign, scoring 22 goals and setting up two more from 19 outings.
Will Lamine Yamal sign an extension with Barcelona?
Lamine Yamal won the Golden Boy award earlier this week, becoming the third Barcelona player - after Pedri and Gavi - to win the award in the last four years. The 17-year-old was also handed the Kopa Trophy last month in recognition of his spectacular rise.
Yamal rose through the ranks at Camp Nou before breaking into the first team in April 2023. He became a first team regular under Xavi last season, registering seven goals and nine assists from 50 games across competitions.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) were apparently keen to secure his services over the summer. However, the LaLiga giants consider him untouchable and reportedly rejected a massive offer from the Parisians for the Spaniard.
Yamal's contract with Barcelona expires in 2026. However, recent reports have suggested that he has already agreed to sign a blockbuster extension, which he will sign once he turns 18 next year.
