Barcelona handed positive Lamine Yamal fitness update after he picked up knock in recent UCL clash - Reports

Barcelona have reportedly been handed a boost with a positive fitness update on star winger Lamine Yamal ahead of the upcoming match against Celta Vigo. The LaLiga clash is slated for Saturday, November 23, at Estadio de BalaĆdos.

Following their 5-2 win against FK Crvena zvezda in the Champions League on November 6, the Catalan club revealed that Yamal had sustained an injury to his right ankle and would be out for two to three weeks. He missed La Blaugrana's match against Real Sociedad on November 10 and could not join up with the Spain squad for their UEFA Nations League fixtures.

Journalist Javi Miguel has now reported that Yamal will recover by the end of the ongoing international break and will feature in Barcelona's upcoming match against Celta Vigo. Miguel, howewer, claimed that the 17-year-old will start the match on the bench.

Yamal's potential return to the pitch will be a massive boost for Hansi Flick, who is dealing with an injury-riddled squad. The Catalan giants currently have as many as 10 players out with injury.

Lamine Yamal has netted six goals and provided eight assists in 16 appearances across competitions for Barcelona so far this season. Since joining the Blaugrana's A team in 2023, the La Masia graduate has recorded 13 goals and 17 assists in 67 matches.

Barcelona have reportedly approached Serie A winger for potential transfer

Barcelona have reached out to Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for a potential transfer, as per a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Barca Universal on X).

The current Blaugrana squad has some impressive wingers such as Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Ferran Torres. However, Hansi Flick might consider the 23-year-old Georgian to further strengthen his squad, especially with the growing injury list this campaign.

Kvaratskhelia, who joined Napoli in 2022, has scored 30 goals and provided 28 assists in 102 appearances across competitions for the club. He helped Gli Azzurri win Serie A in 2023, their first league title in 33 years. He has recorded five goals and two assists in 12 league matches this season.
