Barcelona not interested in selling €100 million-rated star despite interest from Liverpool and Manchester United - Reports
Spanish giants Barcelona are reportedly not considering the sale of their latest sensation, Marc Casado, despite interest from Liverpool and Manchester United. As reported by Barca Universal, the Catalan giants view the midfielder as untouchable amid interest from elsewhere.
Casado has been a true revelation this season after being handed the opportunity to shine by Hansi Flick. With La Blaugrana struggling with an injury crisis in the middle of the park, Casado was trusted by Flick and has repaid the manager for his faith.
The Spaniard has made the number six position of his own with his fantastic all-round showings. The 21-year-old has provided five assists in 15 appearances for Barcelona this campaign.
The young midfielder was playing for Barca's reserve side just a year ago and made only five senior appearances before this season. Now, he has become a wanted man across Europe with Liverpool and Manchester United named among his admirers.
However, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick sees Casado as one of the club's indispensable assets. His contract at Camp Nou was up for expiry last season but they have extended his deal until 2028.
The Catalan giants, however, are looking to offer the midfielder an improved deal as he is one of the lowest earners in the side. However, his release clause is set at a massive €100 million.
Liverpool and Manchester United could both do with the addition of a highly-regarded midfielder like Casado. However, it seems that they might have to look elsewhere.
Coveted striker could reject Manchester United and Arsenal in favor of a move to Barcelona - Reports
Arsenal and Manchester United target Viktor Gyokeres could reportedly turn down the two Premier League clubs. As per Spanish outlet El Nacional, the Sweden international is eyeing a move to Barcelona.
La Blaugrana have Robert Lewandowski leading their attack at the moment but the Polish superstar is 36 now. The Catalan giants eventually have to replace the former Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund striker in the long run.
Gyokeres has been one of the deadliest attackers in Europe since his reported €20 million switch to Sporting CP from Coventry City in 2023. The Sweden international has scored 66 goals and provided 19 assists in 68 appearances for the Portuguese giants so far.
Arsenal have been long-term admirers of Gyokeres while Manchester United have also been linked with his services. With Ruben Amorim in charge at Old Trafford, the Red Devils' hopes of landing Gyokeres could be boosted but at the moment, Barca look the favorites.
