Barcelona keen on signing ex-Tottenham star this summer - Reports

According to Croatian outlet 24Sata, Barcelona are interested in signing former Tottenham Hotspur star Ivan Perisic. The 35-year-old currently plays for HNK Hajduk Split after leaving Spurs in January 2024.

Barca have been linked with signing a new winger this summer. Marquee target Nico Williams' move is reportedly difficult as negotiations with Athletic Bilbao have hit a standstill. On the other hand, names like Rafael Leao, Luis Diaz, and Kingsley Coman have been floating around.

Perisic has now emerged as a target for La Blaugrana. He has previously worked with Hansi Flick at Bayern Munich. Despite being 35, Perisic showed his qualities in the recent Euro 2024.

An experienced campaigner in the top-five European leagues, Perisic has played for clubs like Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, VfL Wolfsburg, and Spurs. Flick reportedly wants to bring in the experienced winger to help guide Lamine Yamal and other young players.

Perisic has a wealth of experience, having represented Croatia 134 times at the international level, scoring 33 goals and providing 30 assists. As per the aforementioned report, Barcelona have a genuine interest in Perisic.

Perisic, though, has played only 12 matches since his move to Hajduk Split. He has reportedly informed manager Gennaro Gattuso of his desire to leave if the Catalan club make an offer.

Barcelona linked with shock move for former Chelsea star: Reports

Ivan Perisic is not the only former Premier League star linked with a move to Barcelona. As per SPORT, N'Golo Kante is also on the Catalan club's radar. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner currently plies his trade for Saudi Pro League giants Al-Ittihad.

Kante, once considered one of the best midfielders in the world, is no longer in his prime. The ex-Chelsea man, though, showed his quality during the recently concluded Euro 2024, where France reached the semi-finals of the competition. Kante started all six games for Didier Deschamps' side during the European Championships.

Kante was a key part of the Leicester City team that created history by winning the Premier League in 2015-16. His performances earned him a move to Chelsea, where the Frenchman won the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League, among other trophies.

The Al-Ittihad midfielder made 269 appearances for the Blues before moving to the Saudi Pro League last summer. As per SPORT, Barcelona sporting director Deco is a big fan of Kante.
