Barcelona manager Hansi Flick makes decision on Mohamed Salah amid Liverpool exit talks: Reports

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is reportedly interested in adding Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah to his star-studded ranks ahead of the next season.

Salah, 32, is considered one of the best stars in the world due to his consistent performances at both club and country level. He has recently emerged as a topic of transfer speculation as he is in the final year of his current contract.

Now, according to Catalan outlet El Nacional, Flick has earmarked the former Chelsea winger as a transfer target. Despite Barcelona's hierarchy believing that the player's potential arrival could hinder Lamine Yamal's development, Flick has been forceful about his stance of luring the Egyptian star.

Flick, who has guided Barcelona to 15 wins in 19 total matches so far, is of the opinion that the Liverpool ace could help Yamal grow as a player. Furthermore, he has convinced the Catalan club's board that the former AS Roma attacker could potentially have a positive commercial impact at the club.

Salah, who joined Liverpool from Roma for around £37 million in 2017, has helped his club win eight trophies. He has bagged 223 goals and recorded 99 assists in 367 appearances across all competitions for the Merseyside club so far.

Barcelona-linked forward Mohamed Salah says he has yet to receive new contract at Liverpool

After his side's 3-2 win at Southampton earlier on Sunday, Barcelona target Mohamed Salah shed light on his future at the Reds. He said (h/t The Athletic):

"We are almost in December and I haven't received any offers yet to stay at the club. I'm probably more out than in [next summer]. You know I have been at the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end, it is not in my hands."

Sharing more thoughts on his current situation, the winger added:

"As I said before, it is December and I haven't received anything yet about my future. I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end, it is not in my hands or the fans' hands. Let's wait and see."

Asked if is upset about Liverpool's current stance, he responded:

"Of course, yeah. I'm not going to retire soon so I'm just playing, focusing on the season and I'm trying to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League as well. I'm disappointed but we will see."

So far this season, Salah has found the back of the net 12 times and registered 10 assists in 18 appearances across competitions for the Reds.

The Egypt international will next be in action for his club in a UEFA Champions League contest against Real Madrid at Anfield this Wednesday.
