Barcelona move ahead of Real Madrid and Arsenal for Spanish wonderkid’s signature: Reports
Barcelona are reportedly set to race Real Madrid and Arsenal in order to sign Antonio Cordero in the upcoming transfer window. The 18-year-old Spanish winger is currently playing for his boyhood club Málaga in the Segunda Division and has attracted attention from several prominent clubs with his impressive performances.
While many other clubs including Manchester United, Ajax, and Juventus are also keen on acquiring Cordero's signature, Relevo reported that La Blaugrana are the top contender in the transfer race. The Catalan club reportedly presented a €5m bid for the wonderkid in the summer transfer window but were rejected by Malaga.
Antonio Cordero has started seven out of the 17 appearances he has made for Malaga this season, registering three goals and three assists. The young talent's current contract with the Spanish club is set to expire in the summer of 2025.
Cordero's potential arrival at Barcelona can be a great long-term investment for La Blaugrana, who are also reportedly looking to further strengthen their squad in the winter transfer window.
While the Catalans are reportedly the favorites to potentially sign him, it remains to be seen if Malaga decide to part ways with Cordero next month rather than letting him walk away as a free agent in June.
Since making his senior debut for Málaga's A team in 2023, Cordero has made 36 appearances while recording four goals and five assists.
Paris Saint-Germain reportedly interested in signing Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong
Fichajes.net reported that Paris Saint-Germain are interested in making an offer to sign Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong. The 27-year-old's current contract with the Catalan club is valid until the summer of 2026 and he reportedly has not yet agreed to a new deal.
De Jong has been reportedly linked with a move away from Barca for a while now, with reported interest from Premier League clubs including Manchester United and Liverpool.
Paris Saint-Germain's reported interest in De Jong comes with head coach Luis Enrique looking to make additions to their midfield in order to strengthen his squad further. The Dutchman has registered one goal and one assist in 12 appearances for La Blaugrana so far this season.
It remains to be seen if Frenkie de Jong decides to part ways with Barcelona in the near future.
