Barcelona offered 3 players including Joshua Kimmich in deal to let Ronald Araujo join Bayern Munich: Reports
Bayern Munich are reportedly looking to offer three players to Barcelona to convince them to sell Ronaldo Araujo this summer. They could look to part ways with Joshua Kimmich, Bryan Zaragoza, and Daniel Peretz to bring Araujo to Allianz Arena.
Bayern have been interested in signing Araujo for a while now but have failed in their pursuit. However, despite being without a manager at this time, they've made the Uruguayan a priority signing for this summer, as per El Nacional. The centre-back's contract with Barca expires in 2026 and his market value is €70 million, as per Transfermarkt.
Bayern Munich hope to avoid paying a transfer fee by offering three players to Barcelona. The first name on the list is Joshua Kimmich, who's been heavily linked with the Blaugrana before as well. The midfielder, who can also play as a right-back, will not renew his contract with the Bavarians, which expires in 2025. Hence, he's likely to leave this summer.
Another player whom Bayern are hoping to include in the Araujo deal is Bryan Zaragoza. They signed him from Granada in February 2024 but he's failed to adapt to the league and the country, making just seven appearances.
The third player on the list is goalkeeper Daniel Peretz. The Bavarians signed him from Maccabi Tel Aviv last summer but he's made just two appearances this season. Barca, meanwhile, could sell Inaki Pena, which would open the requirement for a backup goalkeeper for Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Aston Villa interested in signing Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo
As per Diario Sport, Aston Villa are interested in signing Ronald Araujo this summer. They had reportedly already contacted Barcelona and said that they would try to sign the defender if they qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
Villa have qualified for the competition as they finished fourth in the Premier League, two points above Tottenham Hotspur. Hence, the Villans, urged on by manager Unai Emery, are preparing to make an offer to sign Araujo.
While the Uruguay international is a key player for Barca, their financial issues and multiple defensive options might force them to sell him for a good offer. Araujo joined Barcelona B from Boston River in 2018 and has made 150 senior appearances for the club. He also captained the side in Sergi Roberto's absence this season.
