Barcelona pick 23-year-old forward as their priority over Rafael Leao to strengthen left wing position: Reports
Barcelona have reportedly identified Napoli attacker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as their priority target ahead of AC Milan's Rafael Leao. As reported by Spanish outlet SPORT via Barca Universal, the Blaugrana are looking at the two Serie A stars to strengthen their left-wing position.
As per the report, the Catalan giants believe that Kvaratskhelia is more suited for their style of play compared to Leao. They also believe the Georgia international could be the more affordable of the two left wingers.
Kvaratskhelia earns only €1.5 million per year at Napoli whereas Leao reportedly earns around €5 million per year at AC Milan. Barcelona believe the Napoli winger could be the more feasible option given their financial situation.
Kvaratskhelia is only 23 years of age, has immense potential, and his style of play suits Barca's possession-based game. He only joined Napoli in 2022 and played a key role in helping the club win Serie A in his debut season.
The Georgia international has amassed 30 goals and 29 assists in 104 appearances for Napoli to date. He has been pretty impressive under Antonio Conte this campaign having contributed with five goals and three assists in 16 games.
Rafael Leao, on the other hand, has been at AC Milan since 2019 and has been a key player for the Rossoneri. The Portugal international, aged 25, has 62 goals and 55 assists to his name for Milan in 227 appearances to date.
