Barcelona star set for return from injury, likely to feature against Leganes in weekend clash: Reports
Barcelona winger Ansu Fati is reportedly set to return from injury and is likely to feature in their upcoming clash against CB Leganes. The LaLiga match is slated for December 15, at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
Fati sustained a muscular injury in the biceps femoris of his right thigh during a training session in November. The 22-year-old has been out for about a month, missing six matches for the Blaugrana.
Spanish newspaper SPORT reported (via Managing Barca) that Ansu Fati has recovered from his injury. He will be medically cleared this week for a possible return to the pitch for the Catalan club's upcoming LaLiga clash in the weekend.
It has been an injury-riddled season for the La Masia graduate so far. Earlier in July, he suffered a foot injury and was sidelined for about two months, making his return in mid-September. He missed five matches for the Blaugrana at the beginning of the campaign.
With his expected return in Barcelona's clash against Leganes, Ansu Fati will look to make a regular place in Hansi Flick's squad. The Spanish star has started in one of the seven appearances and has yet to make a goal contribution this season.
Barcelona reportedly handed boost to sign Antonio Cordero amid interest from Real Madrid and Arsenal
Barcelona are reportedly in a transfer race with Real Madrid and Arsenal to acquire Antonio Cordero's signature in January. The 18-year-old winger plays for his boyhood club Málaga in the Segunda Division and his contract there is valid until the summer of 2025.
The young Spanish prodigy has attracted the attention of several prominent clubs including Manchester United, Ajax, and Juventus with his impressive performances. According to Relevo, Barcelona are the top contender to potentially sign Cordero.
The Blaugrana reportedly offered a €5 million bid for Antonio Cordero in the summer transfer window but were turned down by Malaga. He has started seven out of the 17 appearances this season, recording three goals and three assists.
