Barcelona are preparing to travel to the Balearic Islands on Tuesday, December 3, to face Mallorca in LaLiga. Hansi Flick's team arrive at the game on a three-game winless run in the league, and need all three points against Los Piratas.

Meanwhile, the Catalans have set their sights on an Egyptian forward. Elsewhere, Sevilla are having second thoughts about a January move for Ansu Fati.

On that note, let's look at the major Barcelona transfer stories from December 2, 2024.

Barcelona are keeping a close eye on Omar Marmoush, according to SPORT. The Catalans apparently sent scouts to watch the Egyptian forward during Eintracht Frankfurt's Europa League game against Midtjylland on Thursday.

Marmoush has enjoyed a spectacular rise with the Bundesliga side of late and has turned heads at multiple clubs in Europe. This season, the 25-year-old has registered 17 goals and 11 assists from 19 games across competitions.

The LaLiga giants are pleased with his efforts and want to sign him in 2025. Barcelona are gearing up for a squad revamp next year, with a long-term successor for Robert Lewandowski on their agenda

Marmoush has been identified as a candidate who can carry out the role in Hansi Flick's setup. However, the Catalans will face competition from the likes of Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for the Egyptian. Marmoush is under contract with Eintracht Frankfurt until 2027.

Sevilla unsure of Ansu Fati move

Ansu Fati's future remains uncertain

Sevilla are reconsidering their pursuit of Ansu Fati, according to AS. The Spanish forward is a forgotten man at Barcelona and will be allowed to leave in January.

Sevilla are looking for attacking reinforcements in the winter and have their eyes on Fati. However, the Andalusian club are concerned about Fati's continued injury woes, while his salary also remains a problem.

The 22-year-old was once regarded as Lionel Messi's heir at Camp Nou, but injuries have derailed his career. The player is currently out with a muscle injury and is expected to return later this month.

Sevilla are willing to take a risk with the Spaniard, but a loan move in January may only be possible if Barcelona agree to pay part of his wages. Sevilla manager Garcia Pimienta is pushing for a move, having worked with Fati during his formative years at Camp Nou.

Bayern Munich sporting director Maximilian Eberl has revealed that the club are in talks to extend Jamal Musiala's stay at the Allianz Arena. The German's contract expires in 2026 and Barcelona are among the clubs eyeing him with interest.

The Catalans are looking to add more creativity to their squad next year, when they are expecting to return to LaLiga's 1:1 rule. The Spanish giants are long-term admirers of the 21-year-old and remain keen to see him at Camp Nou next season.

However, speaking recently as cited by acclaimed journalist Fabrizio Romano, Eberl insisted that the Bavarians have stepped up their efforts to extend Musiala's stay.

“We’re talking very intensively, well, a lot. Signing before Christmas? I would like to put it under everyone’s Christmas tree, but I can’t promise that today,” said Eberl.

Musiala has registered 10 goals and four assists from 17 games across competitions for Bayern Munich this season.
