Barcelona willing to offer one among 3 players including Ferran Torres to sign La Liga star with €54 million release clause: Reports

According to Javi Miguel of AS, Barcelona will look to sign a right-back in the summer. Villareal's Juan Foyth, who has been previously linked with a move to Camp Nou, is the club's top priority.

The player was a target last summer. However, Barca didn't want to pay the Argentine's €54 million release clause. They have relied on Jules Kounde for the majority of the campaign to operate as a makeshift right-back.

However, Kounde, Sergi Roberto, and Ronald Araujo, the three players who have often played as a right-back this season, are neither naturally adept to the position. Hence, Barca remain keen to add a specialist in the full-back slot.

They are looking to include either Nico Gonzalez, Pablo Torre, or Ferran Torres as part of the deal to sign Foyth. Nico has been out on loan at Valencia. It would be difficult for the youngster to become a starter in the first team upon his return from the Mestalla.

Torre, 20, meanwhile, has made only 10 appearances for the senior team this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

While Torres has been decisive in a few games, the former Manchester City attacker is yet to fully convince the club's hierarchy. He has had a rather mediocre campaign, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in 41 matches across competitions.

Barcelona have previously been linked with moves for renowned players like Benjamin Pavard and Joao Cancelo. However, a deal for Foyth could be financially easier for the club to conclude amidst their dire economical situation.

Barcelona's defense has been phenomenal this season

Barcelona won their first major trophy and second overall this season when they defeated Espanyol 4-2 in their previous La Liga game. They became the Spanish champions for the first time since 2019.

Barcelona's defense has been immensely impressive this season and has served as the team's backbone. They have conceded only 13 goals in 34 La Liga matches this season so far.

Xavi would want his team to perform well in the UEFA Champions League next season. Hence, it is understandable why the legendary midfielder might be keen on further reinforcing his defense.
