Bayern Munich star made to train alone amid interest from Arsenal - Reports
Bayern Munich attacker Leroy Sane is reportedly training alone amid interest from Premier League giants Arsenal. As reported by The Boot Room, the former Manchester City winger is training solo as his future at the Allianz Arena remains under speculation.
Sane was not a part of Vincent Kompany's Bayern Munich side that beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in a friendly last weekend. It is unclear whether the Germany international is out with an injury as he has been spotted training with the ball.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with the 28-year-old over the past few weeks with Mikel Arteta being a huge admirer of the winger. He worked as Pep Guardiola's assistant at Manchester City when Sane was on the books of the Cityzens.
Sane spent four seasons with Manchester City between 2016 and 2020 during which he won eight trophies including two Premier League titles. He made 135 appearances for the Cityzens having scored 39 times while producing 43 assists.
Since moving back to his homeland Germany in 2020, Sane has gone through plenty of ups and downs at Bayern Munich. He has featured 175 times for the Bavarian giants till date, scoring 48 times while providing 50 assists.
With his current deal at the Allianz Arena expiring in the summer of 2025, Bayern Munich are thought to be open to letting the German depart for the right price. An experienced winger like Sane, who can play on either flank, could prove to be a solid addition to Arsenal.
Michael Owen makes a big prediction for the Premier League title race involving Arsenal and Liverpool
Former England striker turned TV pundit Michael Owen has backed Arsenal to clinch the Premier League title this season. He has predicted a season of surprise tipping Manchester City for fourth place while tipping Liverpool and Aston Villa for the second and third spot respectively.
Speaking to Casino Hawks, the former Liverpool and Manchester United striker said:
"In terms of the order [of teams' finishes], my thought process is if City are not gonna win it, they could actually drop away a little bit. It's almost like if City are not gonna be really in the race after 10 games then their priority could go elsewhere - I think there could be a big surprise this season. I'm going to go for Arsenal first, Liverpool second, Aston Villa third and Manchester City fourth."
Manchester City became the first ever team in Premier League history to win four successive league titles. However, they had to deal with strong competition from Arsenal over the last two seasons with a margin of five and two points respectively.
