Borussia Dortmund ace keen on Barcelona move next summer: Reports
Borussia Dortmund forward Donyell Malen is reportedly looking for big move to Barcelona next summer. The Dutchman is looking to leave the German club in the coming transfer windows.
Malen joined Borussia Dortmund from PSV Eindhoven in 2021. He's had some good spells but has failed to make a big impact during his time at the club. He's made 128 appearances, scoring 38 goals and providing 20 assists. He's reportedly keen on a move away in the summer.
As per journalist Florian Plettenberg, Borussia Dortmund will be open to selling Malen even in the January transfer window for a suitable offer. They will demand around €25-30 million with his contract expiring in 2026. Apart from Barcelona, Malen also has a potential move to Arsenal in his sights (via Barca Universal).
The Spanish giants were previously linked with a move for Malen. The Dutchman has made 17 appearances across competitions this season, starting just nine of them. He's scored four goals and provided one assist in that time.
Hansi Flick praises his side and expresses relief after Barcelona's win over Mallorca
The Blaugrana were without a win in three consecutive LaLiga games before they visited Estadi Mallorca Son Moix on Tuesday, December 3. They had a perfect start as Ferran Torres opened the scoring in the 12th minute after a mistake from Mallorca left-back Johan Mojica. The hosts, however, equalised in the 43rd minute through Vedat Muriqi.
Barcelona came out in full force in the second half. Raphinha made it 2-1 in the 56th minute from the penalty spot after Lamine Yamal was deemed to have been fouled in the box. The Brazilian added another in the 74th minute before Frenkie de Jong (79') and Pau Victor (84') completed the scoring.
After the game, manager Hansi Flick said (via Barca Blaugranes):
”Scoring is very important for us. We created many chances but we missed them and this time I am happy to have scored five goals.
“I had already warned that I was happy because this ‘s**tty’ November was over and December was beginning. For me it’s important to have scored a lot of goals, five today.”
He reserved praise for some individuals, adding:
“In the first half we had chances and I’m glad that seeing Ferran as a centre forward he was able to score the 0-1, it’s important that he scored. Lamine makes the difference, forcing the penalty and creating, but we need Lamine as well as ‘top’ players like Pedri, Cubarsí, Frenkie, Raphinha.”
Barcelona sit atop the LaLiga table, four points above Real Madrid, who have two games in hand.
