Bruno Fernandes included as Manchester United and PSG engage in talks over 4 transfers between them this summer: Reports

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have reportedly held talks over four potential transfers, including Bruno Fernandes to the Parc des Princes. The Red Devils have a strong relationship with the Ligue 1 giants, which could lead to four significant deals.

L'Equipe's Loic Tanzi reports that United captain Fernandes and Jadon Sancho have been discussed as options for the Parisians. Talk of a potential exit for the former emerged at the end of last season.

Manchester United have their sights set on Manuel Ugarte and Xavi Simons. Those two are the two targets that the Red Devils want to capture from PSG this summer.

Bruno Fernandes, 29, has two years left on his contract at Old Trafford and is arguably Erik ten Hag's main protagonist. He registered 15 goals and 13 assists in 48 games across competitions in his first season as captain.

The 71-cap Portugal international spoke about his future earlier this year. He acknowledged how both parties need to agree with him continuing at the club:

"I’m not thinking about other things at the moment. Obviously, it doesn’t just depend on me, does it? A player always has to want to be here, but at the same time you have to want him to stay. At the moment, I feel there’s that on both sides."

United would seemingly be looking to replace Bruno Fernandes directly with Simons. The 21-year-old Dutch attacker is one of Europe's rising stars and flourished on loan at RB Leipzig last season. He posted 10 goals and 15 assists in 43 games across competitions.

Ugarte has been the most well-documented potential move of the four, with United looking to sign the Uruguayan midfielder. Sancho has returned to Old Trafford and reconciled with Ten Hag after their massive falling out last season but could depart permanently.

Bruno Fernandes has been at Manchester United for four years and has become a hero at Old Trafford. He's posted 79 goals and 66 assists in 233 games since arriving from Sporting CP in January 2020 for €65 million.

Fans adore Fernandes for his passionate character and consistent performances. He was key in their FA Cup triumph last season, producing a slick assist for Kobbie Mainoo's winner in a 2-1 win against Manchester City.

Ten Hag spoke about Fernandes' future just before the final and was adamant that the club wanted to keep hold of their skipper. He said (via BBC Sport):

"Absolutely the club wants to keep Bruno. Everything I know from him, he loves Manchester United, the fans of Manchester United and to play for Manchester United."

Fernandes reportedly wants to be handed a new contract that places him among the highest earners at the club. INEOS's arrival as co-owners means that astronomical wages are less likely to be on offer as they look to tackle United's issues with overspending.
