Chelsea eye surprise move for €30 million-rated Premier League striker - Reports
According to Fichajes.net, Chelsea are eyeing a move for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta. The Blues have Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku in their ranks. Thus, the Blues are expected to bolster their attacking ranks in the summer. Frenchman Mateta has emerged as a surprise target for the west Londoners. The 26-year-old has been in good goalscoring form for Palace this season. Mateta has scored 19 goals and has provided five assists in 39 appearances across competitions this season.
He is contracted with Palace until the end of the 2025-26 season and has an estimated market value of €10 million. However, Palace are expected to demand much higher. They would look for a fee of as much as €30 million for Mateta, as per the aforementioned report. He is a striker who can destabilize defenses with his penetrating runs and with his powerful presence.
This sort of profile could be a valuable addition to Chelsea's ranks. The Blues have also been linked with high-profile names like Victor Osimhen. Their Europa League qualification could help Mauricio Pochettino tempt top talents to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have sealed a deal for Brazilian sensation Estevao Willian
Chelsea have struck a deal with Palmeiras to sign Brazilian prodigy Estevao Willian, also known by the moniker "Messinho". Willian has been in bright form for Palmeiras.
The Blues will reportedly pay an initial fee of £29 million for Willian. However, eye-watering add-ons could see the final value go up to as much as £55 million.
"Messinho" is known for his tremendous ball control as well as his ability to bamboozle defenses with spectacular dribbling. Explaining his playing style, the youngster was quoted saying (via Mundo Deportivo):
"I can play on the right, but I feel more confortable floating in the middle. So I am closer to the area. I can turn left, right and it is the place I feel freer when playing."
Willian has a big promise and could become a world-class player in the coming years. His imminent arrival is in line with Chelsea's spending policy since Todd Boehly and company took over the club's ownership. The Blues have invested hefty money on some of the best youngsters in world football.
