Chelsea hold talks to send 19-year-old attacker on-loan to Turkish giants - Reports
According to journalist Bruno Andrade, Chelsea are in talks with Turkish side Besiktas over the loan signing of 19-year-old winger Angelo Gabriel. The Blues signed him from Santos in 2023 for €15 million.
The Brazilian spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Strasbourg, providing four assists in 25 appearances. He previously made 125 appearances for Santos, scoring five goals and providing 10 assists.
While Gabriel is a highly-rated talent, Enzo Maresca's side have an overload of wide players. Noni Madueke. Mykhaylo Mudryk, Raheem Sterling, and new-signing Pedro Neto are expected to get the vast majority of playing time.
Hence, Gabriel's chances of playing are slim, which could turn out to be detrimental to his progress. Hence, the Blues are looking to loan out the Brazil under-20 international somewhere where he could potentially get game time and continue his development in European football.
Besiktas have Ciro Immobile, Rafa Silva, Gabriel Paulista, and other notable names in their ranks. Hence, Angelo Gabriel could perhaps progress there in the fringes of European football and can also avoid the high physical nature of the Premier League.
Chelsea revive interest in Victor Osimhen: Reports
As per Sky Sports Italy, Chelsea have revived their interest in signing Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. The Blues previously dropped out of the race after finding out the Nigerian's mega release clause worth €130 million.
Napoli, though, have reportedly lowered their demand, seeing the Stamford Bridge club reignite their interest in Osimhen. He is a prolific striker, one of the best in European football at the moment, and is understood to be keen to move to the Premier League.
Enzo Maresca has reportedly given his green light to move for Osimhen. The Nigerian has scored 76 goals alongside 18 assists in 133 appearances for Napoli. He also helped the club win the Serie A in the 2022-23 season.
Osimhen has often been compared to Chelsea legend Didier Drogba for his characteristics. The Blues currently don't have a striker who can replicate the club legend's achievements.
Osimhen, though, is promising and has done remarkable things at Napoli. His potential arrival would be a mega boost for the team. The 25-year-old is much more battle-tested than the likes of Nicolas Jackson and others.
A report from CaughtOffside states that Napoli could be interested in signing Romelo Lukaku as part of the deal for Osimhen. Lukaku is understood to not have a future at Stamford Bridge and has spent recent seasons on loan at clubs like Inter Milan and AS Roma.
