Chelsea keeping tabs on 24-year-old star linked with move to Barcelona: Reports

Chelsea are reportedly interested in LOSC Lille striker Jonathan David, who has also been linked with a move to LaLiga giants Barcelona. David is one of the most in-form strikers in Europe at the moment, having scored 12 goals and provided two assists in 17 appearances.

According to TBR Football, Chelsea were among the clubs that sent scouts to watch the Canadian striker in action in Lille’s Ligue 1 match against Olympique Lyon. David scored the opener as the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Barcelona had reportedly shown interest in Jonathan David, as they see him as a potential replacement for Robert Lewandowski. Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have also been linked with a move for the player in January.

Jonathan David's contract with Lille is set to expire next summer and he will be available as a free agent, which has reportedly ramped up the interest in his signature. He is currently second in the Ligue 1 scoring charts this season with seven goals in 10 appearances.

David joined Lille from KAA Gent in 2020 for a reported fee of €27 million. He has scored 96 goals and provided 20 assists for the Ligue 1 outfit in 200 games across competitions.

Chelsea enter race to sign Seria A star – Reports

Chelsea have reportedly entered the race to sign Lecce's Patrick Dorgu, who primarily plays as a left wing-back. Dorgu has caught the eye of European heavyweights due to his versatility. The 20-year-old can also operate as a left winger and a left-sided midfielder.

According to Football Insider, the Blues have joined Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Patrick Dorgu. Ben Chilwell has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and is reportedly close to an exit, which could open up a spot for Dorgu.

In recent times, the Blues have shown a propensity to sign young players who are yet to reach the peak of their powers. Dorgu’s current market value is currently €12 million as per Transfermarkt, which shouldn't be too much of a hassle for Chelsea.

Dorgu has scored two goals in 12 appearances across competitions this season for Lecce.
