Chelsea keeping tabs on 3 strikers across Europe as Enzo Maresca seeks reinforcements next summer: Reports

Enzo Maresca's Chelsea are reportedly looking forward to adding more players to their frontline in the next summer transfer window. As per TBR Football, Victor Osimhen, Benjamin Sesko, and Alexander Isak are on the Blues' transfer radar.

Earlier this summer, Chelsea were in talks with Osimhen regarding a permanent move, but he eventually joined Galatasaray from Napoli on a loan deal. As per the aforementioned report, Maresca sees the Nigerian forward as a potential replacement for Nicolas Jackson at Stamford Bridge.

Jackson joined the Stamford Outfit from Villarreal for a reported transfer fee of £32 million. He struggled to settle his feet in west London in his debut season. However, the Senegalese forward has recorded six goals and three assists in nine Premier League appearances for Chelsea this season.

Meanwhile, since joining the Turkish side, Osimhen has made seven appearances across all competitions, bagging four goals and four assists. He was the top scorer in Seria A during the 2022-23 season with 26 goals. Napoli also won the Scudetto the same season, outclassing Lazio and Inter Milan with a huge point difference.

The Blues are also said to be monitoring RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko and Newcastle United's Alexander Isak.

Sesko, 21, has already won 37 caps for Slovenia, scoring 15 goals. The Slovenian forward has made 54 appearances for Leipzig, recording 24 goals and five assists. Alexander Isak joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad in August 2022 and has scored 37 goals and six assists for the Magpies in 75 matches.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca reveals the reason behind dropping Jadon Sancho from the frontline

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has explained the reason behind dropping former Borussia Dortmund attacker Jadon Sancho from the Blues' frontline. The Italian manager stated that players struggle to maintain the same level of consistency throughout the season due to the high number of games.

The Englishman has made only five appearances in the Premier League this season, assisting three goals. During the Blues' 2-1 win over Newcastle United on Sunday, October 27, Sancho was on the bench as Nicolas Jackson (18') and Cole Palmer (57') found the back of the net.

Maresca revealed that dropping Sancho was a tactical decision, saying (via GOAL):

"Jadon has done well since he arrived with us. For sure, players can't maintain the same level the whole season because the amount of games is huge. So, in the last two games, he didn't play, not for any different reasons, just for a technical decision, a tactical decision. No more than that."

Jadon Sancho is currently at Chelsea on a loan deal from Manchester United. Next up, the Blues will travel to St. James Park to face Newcastle United in the round of 16 of the EFL Cup on Wednesday, October 30.
