Chelsea to make move for world-class striker who is set to be 'sacrificed' by current club: Reports

Chelsea are reportedly keen to launch a move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic ahead of the next campaign.

Vlahovic, 23, has established himself as one of the best strikers in Serie A over the last two campaigns. After scoring 49 goals in 108 games for Fiorentina, he secured a £71 million permanent move to Juventus in January 2022.

A left-footed towering striker blessed with strength and finishing, the 21-cap Serbia international has failed to live up to expectations at the Bianconeri. Due to his poor goalscoring form, he has been demoted to the bench of late.

Speaking on TUTTOmercatoWEB Radio, former Torino player and agent Massimo Brambati shed light on Vlahovic's future at the Allianz Stadium. Identifying Chelsea as a potential suitor for the in-demand star, he elaborated:

"There are three clubs that have recently showed up. In my opinion, Juventus will take these offers seriously. All of those teams have an important profile, because they're Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid."

Sharing his thoughts on Juventus' stance on the Partizan Belgrade youth product, Brambati continued:

"I don't know if the capital gain will be made, but after a year and a half, Juventus have already amortised a year's gross salary and a good part of the amount invested too. [Vlahovic] will be sacrificed in the summer."

Vlahovic, who has a contract until June 2026, would emerge as a crucial starter for Chelsea should a potential deal is finalised. He would easily displace Kai Havertz and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the club's pecking order.

Overall, Vlahovic has scored 23 goals and provided six assists in 62 games across all competitions for Juventus.

Chelsea to sell three stars after Mauricio Pochettino's arrival: Reports

He is keen to free up space in his squad by cashing in on Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, and Hakim Ziyech in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Mount, 24, has been speculated to depart the Stamford Bridge outfit since the turn of the year as he is currently in a contract stand-off. Liverpool, Manchester United, and Arsenal have all been linked with the Englishman of late.

Kovacic, on the other hand, has drawn attention from a host of European giants as his current contract is set to expire next June. Manchester United, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich are all keen to snap up the 29-year-old soon.

Ziyech, who failed to secure a short-term loan move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) earlier this January, has dropped down in the pecking order of late. The 30-year-old is likely to depart after starting just nine matches this season.
