Chelsea ready to include 2 players in swap deal offer for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: Reports

Chelsea are reportedly aiming to sign Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and are prepared to include two of their players in a potential summer deal.

Dewsbury-Hall, who has been at the Foxes since 2006, has established himself as a crucial first-team starter for his boyhood club over the past two seasons. The 25-year-old helped his team lift the 2023-24 EFL Championship title under new Blues boss Enzo Maresca.

A left-footed central midfielder blessed with passing and work-rate, Dewsbury-Hall was arguably Leicester's best performer last season. He scored 12 goals and laid out 15 assists in 49 total games for his club.

Now, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are hoping to sign the Leicester youth product this summer. They have approached the Foxes with a proposal and are prepared to include David Datro Fofana and Cesare Casadei in the potential deal.

Dewsbury-Hall, whose current contract is set to run out in June 2027, is reportedly waiting to join the Stamford Bridge outfit. His rumored transfer to Brighton & Hove Albion is believed to have entirely collapsed.

Should the English midfielder join Maresca's new team this summer, he could pop up as a vital starter for them. He would likely fill the void left by Conor Gallagher's potential departure ahead of the next term.

Chelsea urged to snub move for Spaniard

Speaking to British online bookmaker Betfred, ex-Chelsea defender Glen Johnson claimed that his former club should avoid launching a move for Spain winger Nico Williams. He said (h/t DAZN):

"From what I've seen, he's probably better than a few they've already got. As I've said before, Chelsea have so many youngsters and I believe they need more experience in the team. They need match-winners and experienced players rather than an entire squad of young gems. I don't believe they need another young winger right now."

Urging the Blues to snap up experienced players, Johnson concluded:

"They need players that have been around the Premier League for many years, that have won trophies and know how to win. I think they're already maxed out with youngsters if I'm being completely honest."

Williams, 21, found the back of the net eight times and contributed 19 assists in 37 games across competitions for Athletic Club last season.

Apart from Chelsea, Williams is reportedly also on the radar of the likes of Arsenal and Barcelona. The right-footed man is likely to decide on his future after the end of the ongoing UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany.
