Chelsea star rejoins training after losing weights due to dehydration and food poisoning - Reports

Chelsea attacker Raheem Sterling has returned to training ahead of the FA Cup tie against Manchester City. The ex-City star has been suffering from food poisoning and was left with dehydration as a result, according to Daily Mail.

Sterling has also lost weight due to his illness and missed both of the Blues' games against Sheffield United and Everton. His last appearance came during the dramatic 4-3 Premier League win against Manchester United, a game in which he came on as a substitute.

Sterling is one of the few experienced players in a young Chelsea side and is valued by Mauricio Pochettino for that reason. This season, he has made 38 appearances across all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing eight assists. He has made five appearances in the FA Cup, starting all of those games.

However, his recent fitness issues have seen the player stay on the sidelines. He is back in contention to play against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday, April 20.

The Blues reached the EFL Cup final earlier this season and are now aiming to reach the FA Cup final. Winning the FA Cup would see Mauricio Pochettino's team secure a spot in next season's UEFA Europa League.

Chelsea expecting Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi to be back against Manchester City: Reports

Apart from Raheem Sterling, Axel Disasi is another Chelsea player who is expected to be available for the crucial clash against Manchester City. Levi Colwill, meanwhile, will face a late fitness test ahead of the Wembley showdown.

Disasi was the Player of the Match when the two sides played out a 1-1 draw at the Etihad earlier in the season in a Premier League clash. Since his reported €45 million move from AS Monaco in the summer, Disasi has made 40 appearances for the Blues.

He has helped Pochettino's side keep nine clean sheets across competitions. Hence, his potential return could be a massive boost for the Londoners' defensive set-up ahead of the City clash.
