Chelsea trying to sign 16-year-old talent from Brazilian club Gremio - Reports

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Gabriel Mec from Brazilian club Gremio, according to Gremio-based media outlet Radio Imortal (via CFCPys) on X (formerly Twitter). As per the reports, the Blues sent two club directors to hold talks with Mec's father.

Born in 2008, Gabriel Mec is considered one of the most promising talents in Brazil. He plays as an attacking midfielder but is yet to break into the senior team at Gremio.

Last year, media outlets in Brazil reported that the young prodigy was being scouted by top European clubs like Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain. However, Chelsea have now entered the race with force as they look to hand him a professional contract.

Since the arrival of the Todd Boehly-led consortium at Stamford Bridge, the Premier League club has roped in a handful of young talents from Brazil. Last summer, they acquired Andery Santos and Angelo Gabriel from Vasco Da Gama and Santos respectively.

The club most recently completed the signing of Estevao Willian from Palmeiras, and the 17-year-old will join next summer.

Cole Palmer trying to lure Three Lions teammate to Chelsea - Reports

Chelsea star Cole Palmer is reportedly trying to lure fellow Three Lions teammate Ollie Watkins to Stamford Bridge. Football Insider reported (via football.london) that the 22-year-old wants the Aston Villa forward to join him at the west-London club after their newly-found chemistry at the just-concluded Euros.

Both players played a vital role in England's run to the Euro 2024 final despite not being in ex-coach Gareth Southgate's starting XI. Most notably, they combined for the Three Lions' winning goal against the Netherlands in the semifinal. Coming off the bench at the same time, Palmer set up Watkins, who fired home from inside the box for a 2-1 win for England.

The Chelsea man added a goal to his assist when he came off the bench to level the score against Spain in the final. However, England fell to a second consecutive European final defeat after their counterpart won the clash 2-1.
