Chelsea unwilling to sell star player despite heavy interest from PSG: Reports

Chelsea are reportedly unwilling to part ways with Levi Colwill despite interest from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Colwill, who rose through the Blues' youth ranks, has established himself as a vital starter for Mauricio Pochettino's side this campaign. The 21-year-old defender has started 27 of his 32 appearances for his club so far, recording a goal and an assist in the process.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), famed journalist Ben Jacobs asserted that Chelsea are not prepared to sell their talented academy graduate in the upcoming summer transfer window. He wrote:

"Chelsea have no plans to entertain offers for Levi Colwill this summer. [Liverpool] had a historical interest but no approach planned this window. PSG interested, and have made contact with Colwill's entourage as part of normal due diligence. Both clubs aware of [the Blues'] position."

Colwill, who was linked with Liverpool and Brighton & Hove Albion past summer, is considered to be one of the best up-and-coming centre-backs in the world. He has impressed with his versatility at the Blues this campaign, featuring as a left-back in Ben Chilwell's absence.

Should Colwill secure a move to PSG in an unlikely scenario, he would offer great competition at both centre-back and left-back. He would fill the void left by Presnel Kimpembe's expected exit and compete with Nuno Mendes and Lucas Hernandez in a full-back position.

Colwill, who is currently recovering from a toe injury, gained experience at Brighton and Huddersfield Town in the past. He made 22 overall appearances for the former last season, while he featured in 32 games across competitions for the latter in the 2021-22 campaign.

Trevoh Chalobah likely to depart Chelsea

In his column for Caught Offside, transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano shed light on Trevoh Chalobah's future at the Blues. He elaborated:

"Some fans have been asking me if his situation could change now that he's been playing more often recently and performing well. The expectation is still for Chalobah to leave, so that Chelsea can make profit and for Chalobah to be a regular starter [elsewhere]."

Sharing fmore thoughts on the 24-year-old's situation, Romano added:

"I've spoken about interest from Bayern Munich and Nottingham Forest in the past, but there's nothing happening now. Let's see."

Chalobah, whose contract is set to expire in June 2028, made his first appearance of the season after recovering from a thigh issue earlier in February. He has made 10 appearances so far, starting seven of them.

So far, Chalobah has scored four goals in 73 matches for Chelsea.
