Chelsea winger set to join Strasbourg as summer overhaul continues: Reports
Chelsea youngster Diego Moreira is reportedly set to join Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg to further his development in the summer transfer window.
Moreira, 20, joined the Blues on a Bosman move after departing Benfica at the end of his deal. He spent six months out on loan at Olympique Lyon last season, failing to score a goal in nine games for them.
Now, according to reliable French publication L'Equipe, Strasbourg are expected to announce Moreira as their new signing this summer. They are likely to sign the ex-Benfica star on a season-long loan deal.
Moreira, who has made just one appearance for Chelsea's senior team so far, has bagged five goals in nine U21 matches for the Blues so far.
Meanwhile, Strasbourg lured Caleb Wiley away from the Stamford Bridge outfit on a temporary deal earlier this Sunday (August 11). They also have Blues midfielder Andrey Santos on their books right now.
Chelsea forward unlikely to stay at club this summer, claims journalist Fabrizio Romano
In his column for Caught Offside, journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed that Romelu Lukaku will depart his current team before the end of the summer transfer window. He wrote:
"Lukaku will not stay. Impossible. I keep saying it's Napoli for Lukaku, regardless of the [Victor] Osimhen story. [Napoli manager Antonio] Conte wants him, he wants to work with Conte, a three-year deal is ready and Napoli can accelerate soon. I don't see any other option. Nothing is happening with Osimhen this week, there are no updates, but it's not that strongly linked to Lukaku."
Lukaku, who joined the Blues for £97.5 million from Inter Milan in 2021, is believed to be not part of Blues head coach Enzo Maresca's plans. He netted 21 goals in 47 games while on loan at AS Roma last term.
Shedding light on Chelsea's pursuit of Victor Osimhen, he concluded:
"The plan remains for the Nigerian striker to leave Napoli. Chelsea are still waiting, but for Osimhen, we have to be patient because he is still not accepting a loan move, which is the only option at the moment, and also because Osimhen will not reduce his salary. So, the conditions of the deal will have to change, or else, other things could happen with the Osimhen story in the final few weeks."
Osimhen, 25, has contributed 76 goals and 18 assists in 133 matches for his team since leaving LOSC Lille in a £68 million transfer in 2020.
