Cristiano Ronaldo invites former World Cup winner to join him at Al-Nassr next season: Reports
According to Tutto Juve, Cristiano Ronaldo wants Paul Pogba to join him at Al Nassr next season. The French midfielder's doping ban was reduced to 18 months following an appeal in the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Pogba can now return to action for Juventus next March. However, Bianconeri director Cristiano Giuntoli recently hinted that the club could terminate his contract.
The situation has now raised questions about the 31-year-old's future, with recent reports suggesting he could move to the MLS. However, it now appears that Cristiano Ronaldo wants a reunion with Pogba in the Saudi Pro League next season.
The Portuguese superstar has revolutionized football in the Middle East since his move to Al-Nassr in December 2022. Several modern football heavyweights in the twilights of their careers have followed in Ronaldo's footsteps so far.
Pogba shared the pitch with Cristiano Ronaldo in the 2021-22 season at Manchester United, before leaving for Juventus at the end of the campaign. His second stint at Turin was a disaster, with the Frenchman registering just 12 appearances across three campaigns.
Paul Pogba will be eager to revive his career and could be open to a move to the Middle East. However, the midfielder could also wait and assess interest from other clubs in Europe before deciding on his future.
Will Cristiano Ronaldo sign a new deal with Al-Nassr?
Cristiano Ronaldo's contract with Al-Nassr expires at the end of this season and he hasn't signed a new deal yet. The Portuguese has been a hit with the Saudi side, registering 67 goals from 75 games, as per Transfermarkt.
The 39-year-old may be in the twilight of his career but has shown no signs of slowing down. The player continues to be decisive for his country and has already crossed the fabled 900-career goal threshold this year.
Ronaldo is the highest-paid footballer in the world as well, as per Forbes, and earns a whopping $220m per year in wages. Interestingly, his long-term rival Lionel Messi is second on the list, with an annual salary of $60m.
Recent reports have suggested that the Middle Eastern club are already considering a new deal for their skipper. The Portuguese ace is yet to win the league with Al-Nassr, who are now third in the table after eight games. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner will also have one eye on the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
