Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr in talks to sign Barcelona transfer target - Reports

Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr are reportedly negotiating to sign Barcelona target Dani Olmo in the summer transfer window (via @NFC1World). The interest in the Spain international isn't surprising after the attacking midfielder's exploits at Euro 2024, which helped his country lift the trophy.

A move for the RB Leipzig player would be huge, given he's still 26 years old and has a lot of football ahead of him. However, it will not be cheap to secure his services, with Olmo having three years remaining on his current deal with his German employers.

He's also a versatile talent and can play in wide areas, as he's shown for his club side in the past. Olmo largely operated on the left and right flanks last season for Leipzig, bagging eight goals and five assists in 25 matches.

During Euro 2024, the forward scored three goals and assisted twice in six appearances. As a result, he's also been linked with big European clubs, including Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and Bayern Munich.

Despite reports linking Olmo with a move to Saudi Arabia, it is unlikely that the player would want to head out of Europe so early in his career. A move to clubs like Bayern Munich or joining the Blaugrana would earn him the chance to compete for top honors such as the UEFA Champions League.

He's also yet to win the Bundesliga title in Germany, which suggests that there's still a fair bit for the Spaniard to achieve in European club football.

Transfer expert believes Barcelona are prioritizing Nico Williams over Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr target

Journalist Matteo Moretto provided an update on Dani Olmo's situation, with Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr also said to be interested in him. He believes the player is likely to not end up at Atletico Madrid, while Barcelona and Bayern Munich remain interested (via Football Espana).

However, both clubs are said to possess alternatives to Olmo. Firstly, the Catalans are prioritising the signing of Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, while the Bavarian outfit are said to be considering a move for Paris Saint-Germain star Xavi Simons.

If this is the case, there may be a slight window for Al-Nassr to exploit and tempt Olmo to come to Saudi Arabia. Even then, it seems reasonable for the attacker to remain with RB Leipzig, who will be competing in the Champions League during the 2024-25 campaign.
