Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr teammate reaches agreement to join Turkish giants: Reports
Cristiano Ronaldo's teammate at Al-Nassr Anderson Talisca has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to return to the Turkish top flight and join Fenerbahce. The Brazilian forward is set to become the second high-profile attacking addition from the Saudi Pro League for the Turkish giants.
Fenerbahce narrowly missed out on the Super Lig title in the 2023-24 season and employed Jose Mourinho to get them to the top of Turkish football. They have supported the legendary manager with a good number of signings since the summer and continue to look to improve their squad.
Journalist Rudy Galetti has reported exclusively that Fenerbahce have held talks with Talisca, who has agreed to join them in the January transfer window. The journalist pointed out that an agreement is yet to be reached between Al-Nassr and the Turkish side but they remain confident of the agreement taking place.
Anderson Talisca has been on the books of Al-Nassr since 2021, two years before the club went on to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.
The 30-year-old Brazilian has previously played in the Turkish Super Lig, doing so in the colors of Besiktas between 2016 and 2018, on loan from Benfica and winning the league in 2017.
Alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr, Talisca has been a very important player, particularly for how the team looks to attack. The Brazilian has found the net eight times in 19 appearances for the Knights of Najd this season, underlining his importance.
In his career in Saudi, he has made 104 appearances for Al-Nassr, with 76 goals and ten assists to his name in the club's colors.
Cristiano Ronaldo absent as Al-Nassr falls to Al-Sadd in Champions League tie
Cristiano Ronaldo did not feature for Al-Nassr as they suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Al-Sadd in their AFC Champions League Elite. With qualification for the knockout rounds already secured, manager Stefano Pioli opted to rest his captain for the tie against the Qatari side.
Qatar international Akram Afif gave his side the lead after 53 minutes before Al-Nassr found an equalizer in the 80th minute when Romain Saiss put the ball through his own net. The visiting side found a late winner when Adam Ounas scored in the 99th minute from the penalty spot.
Al-Nassr have now failed to win only two games in the AFC Champions League this season, both fixtures which Cristiano Ronaldo missed. They will hope that the 39-year-old remains fit for the rest of the season as they look to win silverware.
