Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr want to sign PL superstar this summer, player keen on possible switch - Reports

Manchester City star Ederson could join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr in this transfer window. According to journalist Santi Aouna, the Saudi Pro League side have registered an interest in the player by making an initial offer.

The report claims that while no agreement is in place yet, the Brazilian is also keen on the move to the Middle East. Negotiations are currently underway for the 30-year-old who could prove to be a massive addition to the squad.

This comes after a report from Fabrizio Romano, who claimed that Manchester City would be fine with letting the player go. Backup goalkeeper Stefan Ortega signed an extension in June that is set to keep him at the Etihad until the summer of 2026. He excelled in Ederson's absence, helping keep eight clean sheets in 20 appearances across competitions.

Last season, Ronaldo's side had former Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina between the sticks. However, the Colombian is set to join his boyhood club Atletico Nacional with his contract expiring. Thus, bringing in a goalkeeper of Ederson's quality could be a huge move for a side that have finished second in the Saudi Pro League two years in a row.

Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo said that Euro 2024 would be his last appearance in the tournament. After their penalty shootout win over Slovenia in the Round of 16, he spoke about getting emotional during the game.

He said (via Portuguese outlet RTP):

“It is, without doubt, my last European Championship.
“But I'm not emotional about that. I'm moved by all that football means — by the enthusiasm I have for the game, the enthusiasm for seeing my supporters, my family, the affection people have for me."

The 39-year-old has had a frustrating time at Euro 2024 having failed to find the back of the net in four games. He had a golden opportunity in extra time against Slovenia with a penalty but had it saved by Jan Oblak, an incident which moved him to tears.

As the game ended 0-0 after extra time, Ronaldo managed to score from the spot in the penalty shootout. At the other end, Diogo Costa proved to be the hero, making three consecutive saves to ensure Roberto Martinez's side progressed to the quarterfinals.

Ronaldo holds a multitude of records at the tournament. He has the most appearances (29), most goals (14), most assists (8), and most tournament appearances (6). With a goal, he can also become the oldest scorer in Euros history.
