Didier Deschamps trusts 2 France players over Eduardo Camavinga despite his strong season with Real Madrid: Reports
France manager Didier Deschamps reportedly favors two players ahead of Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. As claimed by Relevo via Madrid Xtra, the French manager trusts Adrien Rabiot and Youssouf Fofana over the versatile midfielder.
Camavinga enjoyed a stellar season with Real Madrid, helping the Spanish giants win both La Liga and the Champions League. The 21-year-old featured 46 times across competitions for Carlo Ancelotti's side and was deployed in various positions.
Despite his young age, Camavinga has already established himself as a top-class operator in midfield. He has already made 233 senior appearances for Rennes and Real Madrid combined and has also been capped 17 times for France.
However, despite his strong showings at club level, Deschamps has not quite trusted the young midfielder in big games. Camavinga played just twice in the 2022 FIFA World Cup while sitting on the bench in the remaining games.
It would be interesting to see how Deschamps uses the midfield dynamo in the Euro 2024. As per the aforementioned report, he is behind Adrien Rabiot and Youssouf Fofana in the France manager's pecking order.
France have a pretty strong midfield in the Euros, with the likes of Aurelien Tchouameni, Warren Zaire-Emery, N'Golo Kante and Antoine Griezmann also at Deschamps' disposal. Tchouameni is still working his way back to full fitness after missing the last few games of the season including the Champions League final.
Rabiot has been one of Deschamps' favorites in recent years, with the Juventus star having earned 43 caps for Les Bleus. Meanwhile, AS Monaco's Youssouf Fofana has also earned 18 caps since making his France debut in 2022.
Real Madrid-bound Endrick shares his admiration for club legend Cristiano Ronaldo
Real Madrid-bound Brazilian sensation Endrick has named Cristiano Ronaldo as his idol. The 17-year-old Palmeiras attacker hailed the Portuguese superstar for his all-round ability.
While speaking to TyC Sports, Endrick revealed that he looks up to the five-time Ballon d'Or winner. He said:
"[He is] an example of a player that combines the best of everything."
Cristiano Ronaldo etched his name in Real Madrid's history books following his then-world record £80 million move from Manchester United. He scored 450 goals in 438 appearances for Los Blancos while providing 131 assists.
Endrick, on the other hand, is still in the early stages of his development and is tipped for a bright future. He is set to join Real Madrid this summer when he turns 18 having agreed a deal worth reported €70 million back in 2022.
