Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has reportedly held a private chat with Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee over a summer move. The Red Devils are now looking to push forward with their summer rebuild following the appointment of Dan Ashworth as the club's new sporting director yesterday (July 1).
As reported by Express Sport, Erik ten Hag has already had a chat with Joshua Zirkzee who has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford for a while now. The Netherlands striker has an attractive release clause of just £34 million which became active on July 1.

The Red Devils could face competition from Italian giants AC Milan for the signature of the Dutchman. The 23-year-old is currently in Germany representing the Netherlands in Euro 2024 and is ready to take his time while taking a decision on his future.
Zirkzee was formerly in the ranks of Bayern Munich but made only 17 appearances for the Bavarian giants. He has been excellent since his switch to Bologna in 2022 and played a key role behind a strong season for the side.
The youngster scored 12 goals and provided seven assists in 37 games across competitions last season as Bologna secured a fifth-place finish in Serie A. Blessed with a frame of 6 ft 4 in, Zirkzee has been highly rated for his exceptional linkup play and ability to press from the front.
Manchester United open to selling 27-year-old this summer: Reports
Manchester United are reportedly ready to part ways with Scott McTominay this summer amid interest from Fulham. However, they would only sell the Scotsman for the right price, as per GIVEMESPORT.
The Red Devils were reportedly close to letting McTominay depart last summer to West Ham United in a deal worth £40 million. However, they ended up keeping the dynamic midfielder who enjoyed a solid goalscoring season last season.
McTominay scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 43 appearances across competitions last season. However, Manchester United don't have the bargaining power any more as the Scotsman has his current deal at Old Trafford expiring in 2025.
